“My name is Kathy Farr, and I currently own a Non-Medical Home Healthcare Agency in the city of Milwaukee, providing personal and supportive care services to accommodate our members living in their own homes. I was inspired to open and establish a reliable transportation company after hearing so many unfortunate stories from our home health care agency members, and other individuals in the community about how they missed their major medical appointments due to not being not picked up on time, not at all or simply having transportation barriers.
When a good friend of the family had to be picked up from a very important medical appointment, she was told the driver was on their way. This resulted in her never being picked up and the company not answering the phone after hours of her being stranded in a wheelchair and left in the heat due to the clinic closing at a particular time.
I felt bad for her, knowing her physical disability. She cried out loud and in emotional pain that she could not do much about it. I heard her! I wondered in my mind, what it would be like for me if I were her. My heart grieved.
It was at this moment I knew the need for reliable and affordable transportation to and from various destinations within our community was at an all-time high. I believed at that moment that I had the ambition and drive to help make a difference and to become a part of a greater cause, attacking the disparities of the transportation industry woes our community is suffering from one by one.”
